Yalova: Halil İnalcık Institute of Ottoman Historical Research
The Halil İnalcık Institute of Ottoman Historical Research was founded in Yalova in 2009 under the leadership of Prof. Halil İnalcık and is today chaired by Prof. Özer Ergenç. Together with Cemal Kafadar (Harvard University) and Özer Ergenç (Bilkent University) we run its workshop and summer school programmes; I serve as their academic coordinator.
Our shared aim is to build methodological unity in the publication of Ottoman sources and to train young researchers in reading and editing historical texts.
